Red Wings Sign Goaltender Larsson

The Detroit Red Wings announced on Wednesday that they have signed goaltending prospect Daniel Larsson to a two-year entry-level deal.

Larsson was the top goaltender in the Swedish Elite League for the 2007-2008 season, earning a 2.29 GAA and a .921 save percentage playing for Djurgardens.

The Red Wings look for their second sweep in as many rounds as they take on the Stars tonight. It's been ten years since Detroit last lost a playoff game in which they could eliminate their opponents but that was also in the Western Conference Finals, also against Dallas.

Pavel Datsyuk's first career hat trick helped carry the Detroit Red Wings to a 5-2 win over the Dallas Stars Monday night, giving Detroit a 3-0 lead in the Western Conference Finals matchup and putting them one win from their fifth Stanley Cup Finals appearance since 1995.

Red Wings Take Game Two without Franzen

Missing the NHL's leading playoff scorer, Johan Franzen, the Detroit Red Wings still claimed victory over the Dallas Stars in Game Two of their Western Conference Finals matchup Saturday night, holding on for a 2-1 win.

Franzen was a late scratch from the game. The team revealed he had been experiencing concussion-like symptoms since early in the second round. He will be re-evaluated on Monday and miss Game Three in Dallas.
