        <![CDATA[<p>The Detroit Red Wings moved to strengthen their blue line at the NHL trade deadline on Tuesday, picking up defenseman Brad Stuart from the Los Angeles Kings for second-round and fourth-round draft picks.</p>

<p>The 28-year-old defenseman had played in 63 games this season for the Kings, scoring five goals and adding 16 assists in his first campaign with Los Angeles.</p>]]>

<p>With the starting lineup already determined by fan voting, the rest of the Western Conference team's roster was announced Thursday.  Osgood was named to the team, joining starters Henrik Zetterberg, Pavel Datsyuk, and Nicklas Lidstrom.</p>]]>

<p>The 36-year-old Draper was set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer but had no interest in leaving the Red Wings.  The three-year deal virtually assures that he will spend the rest of his career in Detroit.</p>]]>

<p>The Red Wings will open their season in Detroit on October 3, hosting the Stanley Cup Champion Anaheim Ducks.  The Ducks eliminated the Red Wings from last season's playoffs and then signed Detroit free agents Mathieu Schneider and Todd Bertuzzi in the offseason.</p>]]>
